Who We Are and What We Do

The Churkendoose Project was founded in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by several HANDLE® practitioners. Since that time these founders have stepped aside and assumed an advisory role, and an independent board has been formed to lead the organization.

Starting in 2008, The Churkendoose Project plans to give grants to nonprofits and individuals for holistic treatments for neurodevelopmental disorders including but not limited to autism, developmental delays, traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities such as auditory processing disorder and ADHD, and Tourette's syndrome. We also hope to fund scholarships for those who seek training as practitioners of holistic approaches to neurodevelopmental challenges.

The Churkendoose Project is currently run exclusively by volunteers. As our finances stabilize, we may hire a small staff. We are committed to keeping our overhead and administrative costs as low as possible to maximize the funds available for grants and scholarships.
